Venue Hunting - Hold on Tight!

These past few days in Charleston have reminded me of the emotional roller coaster each bride faces when planning her dream wedding. You think you're looking at the perfect venue only to learn that the building across the street is scheduled to be demolished the month of your wedding. You find the cutest earrings for yourself or bridesmaids, only to turn over the price tag and choke on your Benne Wafer. Ah, yes, the ups and the downs.

After strolling brick alleys and iron lined streets for hours with the MOB and visiting some number of potential venues, we were finally able to present the bride with a number of gorgeous options to choose from, each with their own quaint little details that made them unique. Now, its ultimately the bride's decision of where she can see herself standing... next to her (almost!) husband, in that beautiful dress, promising and committing her life. It's true, the venue only accentuates the beauty of a wedding.

However, like any good roller coaster, more ups and downs are sure to follow. The best way to handle them, is to brace yourself! Planning the details of a wedding  are like the slow, and occasionally torturous, uphill climb before you drop back down. The good news is, you know whats ahead! That overwhelming rush of adrenaline, joy, and relief! The point I'm trying to make, is that if you know you're on a roller coaster, you know that drop is coming. So, be ready for it! You can't expect the whole process to be easy. This wedding planning stuff isn't for sissies! You can take that plummet and move on to the next climb, all the while knowing that when you get off the ride, you are going to be exhilarated.

If for some reason you can't relate to this analogy...maybe you're terrified of roller coasters and I have just put you into mental hysterics, let me first apologize. Wedding planning is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. So, remember to enjoy it, even when you are frustrated and tired. You'll be able to look back on it one day and smile because your wedding was perfect.
